Welcome to ImPACt online!
Formed in 1962, the Saskatchewan Regional Group is one of 18 IPAC (Institute for Public Administration of Canada) regional groups across Canada. This online forum represents one of the many ways that the Saskatchewan Regional Group works to achieve our purpose: “to foster a community of excellence in public service as an impartial local forum and as part of a national and international network of practitioners and scholars advancing the interests of public administration.”
Over the years, contributors to this space have ranged from Provincial and National Legislative/Parliamentary Officers, senior leaders of local NGOs, general counsel to a municipal police service, academic scholars, to a strategic advisor in a nationally recognized law firm. The authors have touched on topics including the cost of public services, provincial government strategic planning, political financing, gender equality in elected office, municipal financing, and accountability and transparency in government. Indeed a very broad “network of practitioners and scholars advancing the interests of public administration”!
One of IPAC’s core objectives is to support and recognize the role of the public service in serving our communities, be they local, provincial or national. Thank you to all of our authors for their contributions and insight which help us meet that goal.
